Answers to commonly asked questions we receive about mini sessions.

Do you offer other types of photography besides family sessions?

No. We specialize exclusively in family photography.

Do I need to pay up front?

Yes. All mini sessions are first come, first served, and require payment in advance to secure your time slot.

Your time slot is not reserved until this is received.

In the event of inclement weather, make up dates will be provided.

When and how will I receive my photos?

Most mini galleries are delivered within 1 week.
Galleries for Simple sessions are delivered within 2 weeks.

Every session comes with a private online gallery where you can download digital copies of your high-resolution images, share them, and order prints.

What should I wear?

We often get asked what to wear. It has more to do with what NOT to wear than anything else.

Once booked, we will send over a detailed style guide.

Here are a few tips to get you started:

• Avoid plaids, stripes, bold prints, and logos, as well as fine stripes and tight patterns

• We suggest solid, neutral, natural, or reserved/muted colors that show your unique style while letting you be you be the star of the show.

• Try to coordinate colors without being overly matchy-matchy.

• Wear something you feel comfortable in—if you don’t feel comfortable, you won’t look comfortable.

• Shop for your body type. Clothes that fit well are far more flattering than something a size too small.

What should I expect during a session?

We keep things warm, friendly, and casual. Most families say it feels like hanging out with a good friend rather than an awkward photo session where you’re unsure what to do with your hands.

We usually start with the formal “everyone looking and smiling” shots to get the posey poses out of the way. Then, we move on to fun action prompts that shift the focus from the lens to the connection among you.

Do you have any tips for family sessions?

• Make sure clothes are lint free, wrinkle free, and fit well in advance.If you’ve got young kiddos, come early and change them on location to avoid getting something on their outfit in the car (food, spit up, etc.).

• Have your kiddos practice NOT looking at the camera, pointing at the camera, or talking. Often, parents want “candid & natural photos” but then keep asking their kids to “smile at the camera.”

• Practice being present in the moment. Often in a session, the kids are doing what we need them to do while parents are busy directing instead of looking natural. Enjoy being with your kiddos—even if they’re acting a little crazy—and we’ll capture the authentic moment.

• Be prepared to offer your kiddos and/or partners a bribe! Getting ice cream afterward is always a safe bet.

What if it’s raining?

It is Florida, and the weather can change quite quickly. We have very few sessions that are actually rained out.

We ask that you please be flexible day of as we may need to adjust our start time or location based on cloud cover or rain.

In the event of inclement weather, make up dates will be provided.

While cannot guarantee a specific time will be available, we will do our best to accommodate your schedule. Please be flexible.

We can not offer weather reschedules for cloudy days, cold days, etc.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel, please let us know with as much advance notice as possible.

Mini-session fees are non-refundable.

We understand that things can come up and will do our best to accommodate your needs.
